An energy efficiency and sustainable innovation center for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems: this is the profile of the Regal Rexnord plant in Ciserano (BG), visited by Guido Guidesi, Regional Minister for Economic Development of Lombardy. It serves as the European headquarters of one of the three major operational branches of the global giant, which boasts $6 billion in revenue, 250 sites worldwide, and over 30,000 employees.

Founded in 2020 from the merger of two historic brands – Nicotra-Gebhardt and Elco – the Bergamo hub hosts the key functions of the European organization, from management to R&D, from marketing to production. Today, it employs over 200 people and generates a consolidated turnover of around 70 million euros, with 70% of production destined for export.

The plant spans an area of 28,000 square meters and specializes in the design and manufacturing of components for ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems for industrial and commercial applications – from supermarket refrigeration units to data centers, a rapidly growing sector, and heat pumps.

Noteworthy manufacturing processes include metal folding and forming, robotic stamping, automated assembly, and balance and performance testing. At the same time, Ciserano is also an advanced research and innovation hub: in recent years, the site has expanded its laboratory and modernized its facilities, with a growing focus on sustainability.

Today, 60% of the plant’s electricity needs are met by its photovoltaic system. The site is entirely plastic-free and has already eliminated 50,000 plastic bottles in one year.

Councillor Guidesi’s visit confirmed the importance of companies like Regal Rexnord within Lombardy’s industrial fabric, highlighting how technological innovation and quality employment are key drivers of the region’s industrial competitiveness.
